NEW YORK. – President Luis Abinader will once again take up the issue of the Haiti crisis this Wednesday when he exhausts his turn in the plenary session before the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations, amid non-compliance by the international community.

The president’s speech is scheduled between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., although it will depend on the time taken by the presidents, heads of state and government in their turn, he will focus on calling on the international community to fulfill its commitments to support Haiti.

According to the order, it is in turn number 13, behind Libya, on an agenda of 19 countries scheduled for this Wednesday.

The presidents or heads of state of Mongolia, Seychelles, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Ghana, Bulgaria, Suriname, Cyprus, Ecuador, Slovakia, Namibia and Libya will have exhausted their turn.

In addition to his speech at the UN, he will participate in a reception offered by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to the heads of state and government participating in this event.

Abinader said here that “the international community has to fulfill the commitments that the United States has made, has supported, other countries have to do so and not forget Haiti because we Dominicans are and have carried a very heavy burden,” said the head of State on the eve of his speech at the UN.

The Dominican president met with Kenyan President Williams Ruto and was informed of the current situation in Haiti.
