The National Broad Consumer Price Index 15 (IPCA-15) released this Wednesday (25) slowed down in comparison with the month of Augustwhich recorded a rate of 0.19%, below the financial market’s expectations, which were 0.28%.
The figures were released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). According to the institute, with the result recorded in September, the index accumulated an increase of 4.12% in 12 months, below the level of 4.35% in the previous release.
In the last 12 months, the rate is 4.12%, below the 4.35% observed in the previous 12 months. In the year, the IPCA-15 has accumulated an increase of 3.15%.
Of the nine groups of products and services researched, seven were discharged in September.
The biggest variation and the biggest positive impact came from Housing (0.50% and 0.08 pp). Food and beverages (0.05% and 0.01 pp), the group with the biggest weight in the index, recorded an increase in prices after two months of decline.
The other variations ranged from a 0.08% decline in Transport to a 0.32% increase in Health and Personal Care.
Seven regions analyzed showed an increase in September. The largest variation was observed in Salvador (0.35%), due to the increase in gasoline (2.17%) and bottled gas (3.04%). The lowest result was in Recife (-0.37%), which recorded a drop in the prices of gasoline (-4.51%) and onions (-31.80%).
