This was announced by President Luis Abinader during his participation in La Semanal con la Prensa, which was held this Monday from New York, where the president is completing an agenda, within the framework of his participation in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UN) and in the UN Future Summit.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, election day in that country, it will be known whether the United States will have a male or female president.
The choice of the Dominican Republic for this event was announced in 2022, during the Ministerial Meeting of the Summit Implementation Review Group (SIRG)in Lima, Peru, within the framework of the agenda of the 52nd General Assembly of the OAS in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs participated, Roberto Alvarez.
The news was made known to the Member States by United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who congratulated the Dominican Republic for this new commitment to multilateralism.
At that time, Foreign Minister Alvarez said that the country is committed to working closely with all States to bring this summit to fruition. the most pressing issues in the hemisphere and achieve the best possible results.
