Argentine River Plate qualified for the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores by defeating Chile’s Colo Colo 1-0 (1-0 partial) in the quarter-final rematch, played on Tuesday night at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires.
Facundo Colidio (16) scored the only goal a rematch for the ‘millionaire’ team, which took control of the series with a 2-1 aggregate, after the 1-1 draw in the first leg last week in Santiago.
In the semi-finals, River will face the winner of the series between Brazilian teams Fluminense and Atlético Mineiro, with a partial advantage for the Cariocas, current champions, who won the first leg 1-0.
