Lawyer and digital influencer Deolane Bezerra Santos was released this Tuesday (24). She was imprisoned in the Women’s Penal Colony of Buíque (PE) and was granted a habeas corpus granted by the Court of Justice of Pernambuco (TJPE).
Deolane was arrested as part of the Operation Integration investigation. The influencer is accused of creating a betting website to launder money from illegal gambling, according to the Civil Police of Pernambuco. The action was launched against a gang suspected of moving around R$3 billion in a gambling money laundering scheme.
The decision was made by the court following a request from the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The body requested the release of Deolane and other suspects subject to compliance with precautionary measures other than imprisonment.
Before being granted freedom by the TJPE, Deolane was benefited by another habeas corpusbut it was prey on Wednesday (11), one day after failing to comply with the precautionary measure that prohibited her from expressing herself through social media and the press. Upon leaving prison, she gave interviews and talked to fans in front of the prison where she was being held.
Gustavo Lima
As part of the same investigation, country singer Gusttavo Lima had arrest warrant issued this Monday (23) by Judge Andrea Calado da Cruz, of the 12th Criminal Court of Recife. Lima is accused of having links with people investigated in the operation. He is in the United States on a trip with his family.
In a press release, the singer’s defense said that he had no involvement with the facts investigated by the operation.
“The singer Gusttavo Lima would never be complicit in any act contrary to the legal order of our country and there is no involvement whatsoever on his part or that of his companies in the object of the operation launched by the Pernambuco police”, declared the defense.
