With a budget that represents that of about 18 ministries together (33,081 million pesos), the National Institute of Student Welfare (Inabie) highlights the impact of school meals on the finances of the beneficiary households and on the economy in general.
The entity stated that it has earned approximately 83% of its budget (27,612.9 million pesos), with a supervision and internal audit strategy that has helped them to streamline spending. In fact, its executive director, Víctor Castro, assured that he is paying 20% in advance to suppliers.
