During the Ecumenical Te Deum for the 214 years of the libertarian feat of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Monsignor Estanislao Dowlaszewicz asked the rulers, politicians and civic leaders put aside their differences and work together for the good of the country.
“May our rulers, civic leaders and leaders stripped of selfishness and narrow visions, work for the good as servants of the common cause, that together we dream and build the land without evil that our ancestors and our indigenous peoples and native peoples sought,” he said.
In the homily, Dowlaszewicz I urge you to follow God’s path of reconciliation avoid confrontation between Bolivians and blossom with positive attitudes like trees in spring.
“The wisdom of God is pure, peaceful, forgiving, conciliatory, compassionate, impartial and sincere. These virtues seem distant in our relationships “Among the people of Santa Cruz and Bolivia, we have become conflictive with a desire for revenge,” he commented.
He also regretted the acts of violence that have been recorded in Santa Cruz and The constant fires that spread in the Chiquitania that consume forests, animals and pollute the “purest air in America.”
“The land under the purest sky in America, how beautiful it sounds, but it seems that this is no longer the case since we have been suffering from indiscriminate fires and burning for several years. Some say that it is to expand the agricultural frontier and be able to export, others say that it is to sell coal, others to appropriate the land. Those who speak of Mother Earth, however, They wound her to death, there is no longer any spiritual connection with the land, but they use it to fulfill political promises to provide land in the East,” he lamented.
Monsignor reflected on the riches of the soil of Santa Cruz, but regretted that the authorities have forgotten Santa Cruz and invited them to work together without selfishness and regardless of political colors.
“What a pity that we do not have the purest sky in America either because the human hand, ambition is contaminating it and also contaminating our soul with an ideology that is not the wisdom of God (…) May our authorities accompany and search for life healthy and fraternal, confidence among all in this land that sprouts in development and thriving life,” he added.
In this Te Deum, which took place in the Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo, Monsignor René Leigue reappeared after his operation. At the end of the celebration he thanked the people for their words of support and prayers for his recovery.
At the time of the offerings, a group of firefighters entered the temple with rescued trees and animals. A round of applause accompanied their journey to the altar. The celebrants thanked the firefighters and volunteers for their daily work. They also asked for health and protection in their mission.
