De la Flor made statements after participating in the forum ‘Activist Business Leadership: A Key Factor for the Development of the Country’, where he warned of the uncontrolled advance of illegal economies in the country and that they have even infiltrated the public administration.

“Criminal economies are advancing rapidly and have already colonized a large part of the public administration, especially at the local level and in Congress. In fact, we have a president of Congress who is a representative of one of the most active and pernicious illegal economies. Mr. Salhuana has direct links to informal mining“, he assured.

The mining company Poderosa has suffered several attacks by illegal miners, who have used long-range weapons and explosives.

The businessman also said that illegal mining has surpassed drug trafficking in its territorial expansion. In this regard, he said that the resources produced by these activities would be used to corrupt officials.

“[Tienen] “They have enough resources to buy off people, to corrupt officials and to impose their influence, and we see this especially. Now the illegal miners literally have a multi-party bench, which is what is promoting their interests,” he said.
