The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, swore in this Monday the new military attorney general of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Colonel Elías Plasencia Mondragón.
In a simple ceremony held in the meeting room of the Office of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) in Caracas, with the presence of military prosecutors and general directors of the entity, Saab took the oath of office in accordance with the provisions of articles 284 of the Constitution and 8 of the Organic Law of the MP.
Saab stressed that this swearing-in will open a new framework for exchange and coordination between the two bodies, which will include a permanent liaison office, exchanges on internal resolutions, control and monitoring, as well as training.
For his part, Colonel Plasencia said he was “very motivated by the great opportunity to be useful to the people of Venezuela.”
In this regard, he said that he would carry out his work “always in compliance with the Constitution, laws, regulations, current legal standards, agreements and treaties; respecting at all times and as you have taught us, constitutional guarantees, due process and the defense and protection of human rights, where you have proven to be a master.”
Colonel Elias Plasencia replaces Major General Jose Daniel Maldonado in office.
