Of the 5,000 jobs that hoteliers they said they needed in the East region of the Dominican Republic 1,362 people were selected at the great job fair held by the Ministry of Labor in conjunction with the hotel sector.
“Through the brokerage service of the job The great two-week job fair has just concluded to answer the call of the Eastern tourism sector about approximately 5,000 places that they have said they have. Of these amounts, they have indicated a first group of 1,362 vacancies,” said the head of the Ministry of LaborLuis Miguel De Camps.
He added that on the day of the great fair of job more than 1,500 people were referred and more than 90% have been hired.

Regarding the activity, the president of the Eastern Hotel Association (sunshine), Ernesto Veloz, thanked Minister De Camps for going and supporting the job fair. He added that in the next few days they will have a logistical meeting with the Ministry of Labor to finish completing the template that is going to be needed today, for the winter and the new hotels.

In the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republicthe hotel sector has more than 45,000 rooms, of which 75% are occupied.

Veloz also highlighted that the measures taken by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to liberalize the protocols for the use of attachments in the pandemic have had a positive impact on the sector.
“We currently have 45,000 rooms in the Punta Cana area. Without the ones currently being built, there are two more hotels. In the middle of this year the first bite will be given for new hotels as well”, said the executive.
