The President of the Republic of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, arrived in New York on September 21 to participate in the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN). This event marks his first speech as president, where he will address the rejection of discriminatory tax lists and illegal migration in the Darien jungle.
Mulino’s agenda includes meetings with U.S. business leaders and participation in the Clinton Global Initiative and the Concordia Summit, which seek to foster dialogue and establish effective alliances.
At the UN, Mulino will address the Future Summit on a Pact for the Future, focused on strengthening global cooperation. She will also attend the opening of the Assembly and a forum on sustainability organized by Canada and the European Commission.
On Wednesday, he will take part in a meeting of the UN Security Council and meet with Secretary-General António Guterres. His speech at the General Assembly will focus on illegal migration and discriminatory tax lists.
His bilateral meetings include meetings with Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He will also attend a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden.
Mulino will be accompanied by the First Lady, Maricel de Mulino, and several ministers of her cabinet, as well as the general manager of the National Bank of Panama.
