8 nightclubs to close this weekend in Operation Peace Guarantee

Santo Domingo.- Eight nightclubs were temporarily closed and 24 were notified of violations during the third consecutive weekend of Operation Peace Guarantee, led by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Directorate (COBA) of the Ministry of the Interior and Police.

Agents of the police participated in the joint actions. National Policerepresentatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and other institutions, who responded to complaints of violations such as noise pollution, obstruction of public roads and violation of hours for the sale of alcoholic beverages.

During operations on Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st, Oasis Lounge was closed in the National District on George Washington Avenue in the Colonial City, due to reports of clandestine or “private” parties being held.

In addition, Heydell Bar and the Covit Cafeteria were closed due to noise pollution, and the Edward Winery was closed due to obstruction of public roads.

In Santo Domingo Oeste, agents closed four entertainment centers, including Bodega Anthony, Correa Car Wash and La Opción Licor Billar, for violating the regulations governing the hours of sale of alcoholic beverages, in addition to Súper Colmado Belier, for obstructing public roads and excessive noise.

The actions of these operations, coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior and Police, respond to multiple complaints from citizens about the disruption of public order, which has generated disturbances, fights, unrest and insecurity.

Representatives of these businesses must attend the MIP offices to coordinate the conditions that ensure compliance with laws regarding order and security.

The Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, has declared that inter-institutional efforts will continue throughout the national territory and has reiterated her call to citizens to support these initiatives that seek to guarantee citizen security and reduce social conflict.
