New York.- The president Luis Abinader On Sunday, he called on the international community to honour its commitments to support Haiti.
“The international community has to fulfill the commitments it has made, the United States has supported, other countries have to do the same and not forget Haiti because we Dominicans are and have carried a heavy burden.”
He said he would meet with Kenyan President William Ruto.
Asked by Dominican journalists if the situation in Haiti is changing or worsening at the moment, the president responded, “Well, the situation of the mission is stable, but it really needs to have much more support.”
“Tomorrow we will be giving our presentation on what has to do with the future mission and on Wednesday we will be giving our message to the United Nations.”

He said they are holding bilateral meetings but the important thing is for the international community to reiterate its support for Haiti.
“That’s been a situation we’ve had for three years. Three years ago I came here to shout about the situation as it was there.”
It is recalled that the President of Kenya announced the arrival of another 600 troops from his country to join the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS), which, under the leadership of his nation, began to be deployed three months ago in impoverished Haiti to help the police confront the bloody armed gangs.
Ruto arrived on Saturday at the airport in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, where he was received by the president of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Edgard Leblanc Fils; the director of the National Police, Normil Rameau; and Ketleen Florestal, interim prime minister in the absence of Garry Conille, who traveled to New York to participate in the UN General Assembly.
