“Your song is a lie, bro”: B from Los Aldeanos criticizes Micha’s double talk

B de Los Aldeanos / El Micha

AREQUIPA, Peru – Bian Oscar Rodriguez Gala, a Cuban rapper known as B, denounced the double standards of reggaeton singer Michael Fernandez Sierra Miranda (El Micha). This is due to the controversial statements that the latter has recently made, and his desire for an alleged apolitical stance on the subject of Cuba.

“It’s a lie, dude! It was a lie and it’s a lie now. And I’m not the one saying that, your actions prove it,” said the former member of Los Aldeanos in a live broadcast on their social networks.

B then referred to a false attitude of Micha and his songs, pointing out the specific case of the track A dreamin which the reggaeton singer criticized the dictatorship in Cuba in the context of the 11J demonstrations. “Your song is a lie,” the rapper stressed.

In his latest statements, Micha antagonized the Cuban exile community in Miami, while defending his right to travel to the island and stay out of political and social debates concerning the country.

Last week, the reggaeton singer was the subject of a heated discussion on the El Toro Loco Show. During an interview In the program, he verbally attacked Cuban-born presenter Rosy Iglesias, forbidding her to comment on the situation in Cuba because she had not been to the island for many years.

“I would like to sing in Cuba. How do I do it? Those who know, please explain to me: What do you have to do to sing in Cuba? Because I want to sing my songs there and open fire on those people,” asked El B, who has lived in the United States for years and before emigrating was part of a group notably censored by Castroism.

In this sense, the rapper asked for coherence, dignity and courage from Cuban artists who prefer to profit on the Island with the approval of the regime in Havanain exchange for ignoring the interests of the public under the shield of impartiality.

“I don’t want to go to Cuba to get 20,000 pesos. I would be ashamed if I said I was going to Cuba to get 20,000 pesos, in a country where people are dying of hunger,” he said.

In B’s opinion, this breed of artists is trying to whitewash the dictatorship, selling people the idea that in Cuba you can sing “and guarachar.”

“That’s so that those who are here and have money go there to the concerts and to party,” explained the former Aldeano while recalling the decorum of other Cuban singers of the past, famous for forging their careers a successful career in exile without the need to sympathize with the regime.
