The National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) reported again the situation of forest fires in the country, as a result of the season of drought and high temperatures following the El Niño phenomenon.
The entity, by 12:30 noon, reported a total of 29 active fires in the countrywith the majority concentrated in the department of Tolimawith 12. It also reported a total of six fires already controlled.

Likewise, the UNGRD mentioned that 83% of its emergency air operations to deal with this situation are concentrated in Natagaima and Aipe.

“UNGRD has coordinated air and land capabilities with entities of the National Disaster Risk Management System (SNGRD), local and regional authorities to prevent further damage, control the spread of the fire and protect affected communities.“, the entity mentions.
