The son of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes “El Mencho,” leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, went to the Columbia Court in the U.S. capital to hear the closing arguments of the defense.
The jury of 12 U.S. citizens determined, based on arguments from the prosecution and the defense of the 34-year-old son of the leader of the criminal group, that he was guilty of crimes associated with drug trafficking.

The US authorities will not be able to officially sentence Rubén Oseguera until January 10, which could be 40 years, or even life imprisonment.
“El Menchito’s” lawyers are already preparing the legal route to appeal the jury’s decision.
