Botafogo and Sao Paulo drew 0-0 on Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro in the first leg of the 2024 Copa Libertadores quarter-finals and left the tie wide open, which will be decided next Wednesday in the capital of São Paulo.
The match had two very different stages. In the first half, Botafogo overwhelmed their rival and had up to eleven chances to score, but they were unable to convert their great superiority on the pitch into a goal.
In the second, with the changes, Sao Paulo improved and equalized the process, even missing some opportunities to take the victory.
The winner of the tie will play in the semifinals against the winner of the series that begins on Thursday, also in Rio, between Flamengo and Peñarol from Montevideo.
