There are more than 33 union benefits in Petroperú

José Arista

The workers of Petroperu They have more than 33 benefits from union negotiations which puts a greater burden on the company, despite its financial deterioration, said the Minister of Economy, José Arista, indignantly.

“I am annoyed that there are ‘Arab sheiks’ employed by Petroperú, when we have a company that is making great efforts to survive. That annoys me and I think it annoys all Peruvians as well,” he stressed.

“It cannot be that schooling benefits are given to children (of the oil company’s employees) until they are 27 years old,” he stressed.

After revealing the benefits of the oil company’s workers before the Congressional Energy and Mines Commission, Arista urged congressmen to work together to sensibly approve a bill for “splitting” or “caps” for said union benefits.

“We will end up with taxpayers working for those who do not work, and that is not possible,” he said.

Law of division

Arista used as an analogy to indicate what should be done with the less productive parts of the oil company, what doctors do to save the life of a patient with a gangrenous leg.

“We could reach our goal, but to do so we have to get rid of all those who are not useful to us in order to get there faster or so that the fuel we have on this ship will reach where we want to go. That is my proposal, Mr. President,” he said.

Directory

At the time of going to press, the name of the person who will occupy the presidential seat of Petroperú was still unknown.
By yesterday afternoon, Arista had already stopped saying that the three directors representing the MEF would remain on the board. As Peru21 had indicated, these people had given up when they were told that they were going to deal with Alejandro Narváez, former candidate of the leftist Verónika Mendoza, who had railed against them.

For this reason, Arista limited itself to indicating that the new chairman of the board would be elected at the shareholders’ meeting that was scheduled to take place yesterday, after the meeting that he and the Minister of Energy and Mines, Rómulo Mucho, had in Congress.

It was even learned that both he and Mucho were trying to convince President Boluarte to back down from her decision to appoint Narváez as head of Petroperú due to the risk of having him at the head of the entity when he had a “complicated” sentence.

Three new names have emerged for directors of the oil company, some of whom had been sponsored by the union leader Oscar Vera. One of them is Isabel Tafur, former president of Perupetro, who during her administration lied about the economic situation of Petroperú in order to award it oil fields.

The other two are Antar Bisetti and Aurelio Ochoa. It was learned that the latter had declined the invitation, since he is currently vice president of Osinergmin.
