A recording has come to light showing the last moments of life of the Ecopetrol worker, who was hit on the head with a helmet during a heated argument he had with some people on the night of August 30 in the Palmira neighborhood of the municipality of Barrancabermeja, Santander.
Demetrio Gonzalez Florez58 years old, as the victim was identified, arrived at one of the houses in the area and pointed at some people. Immediately afterward, a woman tried to hit him with a helmet, but the man protected himself from the attack; however, another woman arrived at the scene and hit him on the head with the blunt object and the fall was fatal, leaving him lying lifeless on the pavement.
The victim’s son, a minor, tried to prevent the attack, but his efforts were in vain.

According to Vanguardia, at the time of the incident, the state company employee was carrying a gun in his waistband when he was arguing with the three women, to whom he allegedly hurled harsh words for reasons still unknown. Among those present was his wife, the report says, whom he complained about for being in the company of the ladies.
