National Police arrest a man who extorted another man

The National Police reported that they arrested a man accused of receiving 13,000 thousand pesos in his bank account, the result of extortion through telephone threats against a citizen in Santo Domingo.

The detainee is Jeremi Ricardo Hernández Dandrades, arrested under arrest warrant number 973-2023-EMES-06646 by agents of the Cyber ​​Police Area Directorate (DICAT).
According to the preliminary report, Hernández extorted the victim through threatening calls, in which he demanded the sum of RD$13,000.00.

The report details that the accused allegedly threatened to make public intimate images of the victim if she did not deposit the sum of RD$150,000.00.

The victim’s name was not revealed to protect his safety.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
