A man who killed his father with a pickaxe was arrested

Cicpc agents arrested Deivis Rodríguez (40) in the El 70 neighborhood of El Valle, accused of killing his father by inflicting several wounds with a pickaxe, a tool normally used in masonry.

The events occurred last Saturday night when Deivis was drinking alcohol in the aforementioned sector of Caracas. As a result of the liquor, Deivis became violent with the neighbors, a situation that his father José Enrique Rodríguez (65) complained about.

But the man waited for the father to go to bed, grabbed a pickaxe and attacked him, causing multiple serious injuries. Neighbors took him to a health center where he died.

After being arrested by CICPC officers, they checked his name in the Police Investigation and Information System (Siipol), showing that he has records for personal injuries and violence, according to the scientific police report.

The subject was handed over to the 35th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry.
