Venezuela delivers a protest note to the EU and condemns Borrell's interference

The Deputy Minister for Europe, Coromoto Godoy, reported on Tuesday that she delivered a note of protest to the head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU), Rachel Roumet, following the interventionist statements made by the High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell.

Through its account On social media, the vice minister asserted that Venezuela is respected and that “no further interference in our country” will be tolerated.

“I submitted a Protest Note to the head of the European Union Delegation, Rachel Roumet, following the continued interventionist statements by High Representative Josep Borrell,” he said.

Godoy urged the EU to address “its problems” and asserted that “its plans against our democracy have failed as always.”

Last Sunday, Borrell gave an interview in which he described the government of President Nicolás Maduro as supposedly “dictatorial” and “authoritarian.”

These statements were rejected by Foreign Minister Yvan Gil, who stated that Borrell is in “the garbage dump of history.”

“When we say the garbage dump of history, we are referring to the place where Borrell is now, going from interview to interview, spokesman for evil, a withdrawal from politics with his hands stained with blood, doubly failed in his attempts to harm the Venezuelan people,” Gil said.
