Public investment plummeted in the province of Pedernales in August compared to the other months of the year. It was only RD$0.1 million, the lowest at the provincial level.
In the southern province, the Pedernales-Cabo Rojo Tourism Development Project is being developed, under the supervision of the Pro-Pedernales Trust and the General Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships, which seeks to turn it into a new tourist destination in the country.
Last July, public investment was RD$6 million and in June RD$13.5 million. In January, RD$42.6 million was spent and in February it rose to RD$793.8 million (12.6%). In the first quarter of the year, public investment in Pedernales was RD$851.9 million.
In August, the total execution of the country’s public investment projects reached RD$8,022.6 million, including multi-provincial public investment.
Second place in August was occupied by Monseñor Nouel, with RD$4.6 million, followed by Peravia (RD$9.6 million), La Romana (RD$10.8 million), Sánchez Ramírez (RD$14.8 million), Baoruco (RD$15.3 million) and Espaillat (RD$16.3 million).
Public investment in August was located in Santo Domingo with RD$4,314.6 million (54.6%) María Trinidad Sánchez (RD$839.9 million), National District (RD$339.1 million) and Duarte (RD$308.2 million), according to the monthly budget execution report of the Budget.
