A patrimonial injury for more than half a million dollars, to the detriment of 30 companies in the country, through the fraud modality, was detected by the authorities in Operation Enjambre.
According to the National Director of Judicial Investigation, Carlos Valencia, this Operation was developed after several investigations for the crime of fraud. He detailed that the fraudsters used the modality of checks without funds or closed accounts to make purchases in different companies.
At a press conference, the authorities explained that 8 people were arrested through 14 raids in the capital city, in the sectors of San Miguelito, December 24 and Bethania, in West Panama, in La Chorrera.
Items such as clothing, medical supplies, oil and car parts were seized.
