The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, insisted today that each government program must have the well-being of the population as its main objective.
Through his Twitter account, the head defended that the community be the main stage where the results of these projects are expressed and emphasized the importance of politically accompanying their materialization.
Díaz-Canel shared an article from Granma about the recent meeting he chaired between the top leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).
According to the Twitter account of the political organization, the meeting included an analysis of the care provided to neighborhoods and communities, a process to which the Balance Assemblies of the Party and comprehensive visits to the territories have contributed.
The first secretaries of the Provincial Committees of the PCC participated in the balance, who also addressed political attention to the cultural sector, food production, the sugar harvest, attention to non-state economic actors and measures to face inflation.
The meeting evaluated the behavior of the PCC’s performance indicators at the end of 2021, as well as the insurance of the family doctor and nurse program, the official site published.
“These programs mainstream the entire society, all levels, but it is in the community, in the Popular Council, in the neighborhood where its main actors and beneficiaries are; hence the importance of their understanding and popular participation,” said the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, Roberto Morales.
The leaders also discussed the development of social communication, the fight against racial discrimination, the Program for the Advancement of Women, the strengthening of democracy and institutions, and social prevention, government programs that the Party must control and promote. .
