In the midst of the national emergency due to forest fires, President Luis Arce announced on Saturday night that grants will be awarded “financial incentives to producers who do not burn and produce in an environmentally sustainable manner.”

“Producing responsibly will be beneficial for our country,” the Head of State stressed in a televised message broadcast at 11:00 p.m.

He also announced that “in the following days a tanker plane contracted from Canada will arrive” to assist in the efforts to extinguish the fires.

Arce said his government is working on a post-fire plan that involves four areas of intervention.

That is, reforestation of affected areas; food and water for human and animal consumption and irrigation; recovery of agricultural production with the delivery of seeds, fertilizers and agrochemicals; and the replacement of burned homes.

The president stressed that his government is working hard to fight the fires.

“This is a time of work and action, This is not the time to politicize the fight against fires and even less to turn our country into an electoral issue by calling for marches. and blockades that threaten the economy and the lives of the Bolivian people,” he said.
