Santo Domingo. – The Santo Domingo Water and Sewer Corporation (CAASD) will carry out technical work on the drinking water distribution line, and reported that starting this weekend, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15, the intersection between Pedro Henríquez Ureña and Alma Máter avenues in the National District will be closed.
The CAASD Investment Project Execution Directorate highlighted that the work being carried out by the institution’s brigades will benefit more than 5,000 families in the demarcation sectors.
In this regard, he said that the work will begin this coming Saturday, the 14th, at 2:00 p.m. and is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, the 15th, at night.
“The work of our brigades will strengthen the distribution of drinking water in sectors such as El Vergel, Gazcue, Zona Universitaria, La Julia, La Esperilla, among others,” explained the Directorate of Execution of Investment Projects.

He also explained that the section to be worked on is almost exactly where the “pantalon” is formed with César Nicolás Penson Avenue, while pointing out that it will remain closed.
Vehicles traveling along Pedro Henríquez Ureña will not be able to continue straight, while directly affected residents will be able to access their homes from the back, as the intervention will not block the entrances to nearby buildings.
Actions to make traffic visible
The project is being carried out by the Investment Projects Execution Directorate and is supported by the General Directorate of Traffic and Transport Safety (DIGESET) and the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transport (INTRANT).
The CAASD said that the units will work day and night during those days, so that traffic will be normal on Monday. It also said that there will be a detour for residents and drivers who will travel through the area that weekend.
