Luis Eduardo Llinás, who is in charge of the Financial Information and Analysis Unit (UIAF)confirmed that the entity was suspended from the so-called Egmont Groupwhich brings together the world’s financial intelligence offices, according to the EL TIEMPO Investigative Unit.

According to what Llinás told the radio station ‘W Radio’, He himself received the letter from Impa regarding the transaction between a Colombian entity and the firm NSO Group, creator of Pegasuslast August 27th.

Llinás also gave details of the suspension: “Egmont Group transmits information, it is a secure channel (…) they have told us that they are going to suspend the secure channel of Colombia, that is, not only can we receive information but we cannot deliver it either.“.

The official also explained that next week, Egmont will hear UIAF Colombia’s explanation to determine whether or not a group rule regarding the confidentiality of information was violated.
