Balance Covid-19: Minsal reports 23,254 new cases and a positivity of 24.66 nationwide

The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where 28,076 new cases were reported, of which 12,869 correspond to symptomatic people and 2,643 did not present symptoms. In addition, 7,742 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 2,876,455 and recovered patients reached 2,696,204 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.

On the other hand, the death of 144 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 41,491 since the start of the pandemic, while positivity reached 24.66% nationwide.

As for active cases, these reached 131,408 people and PCR tests amounted to 86,698 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 32,353,716.

Meanwhile, there are 1,005 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 835 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 2,413 critical beds enabled and 192 critical beds available.

Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 18.94%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are Biobío, Maule, Los Lagos and O’Higgins.
