Andrés Caleca joins the Movement for Venezuela, according to Simon Calzadilla

Simón Calzadilla announced to the militants of the Movement for Venezuela the incorporation of Andrés Caleca. “Tireless promoter of the idea that strengthening the parties is fundamental for the democratic struggle,” he said about the former candidate in the primary elections.

Simón Calzadilla, national secretary general of the Movement for Venezuela, announced the incorporation of Andrés Caleca to that political organization, “in what is a demonstration of coherence” of the former candidate for the primaries of the Democratic Unitary Platform, who is convinced of the need to strengthen political parties to recover democracy in Venezuela, as reported in a press release.

Through his social networks, Calzadilla announced to the militants of the Movement for Venezuela (MPV), to its supporters and to the more than 400,000 Venezuelans who voted for Edmundo González through the MPV card, the incorporation of who was their candidate in the primary elections that took place in the country on October 22.

In his tweet, Calzadilla added that “Andrés Caleca, as of today, formally joins this brave family -MPV-. Convinced and tireless promoter that the strengthening of the parties is fundamental for the democratic struggle, he stepped forward with joy and aware of the commitment that lies ahead.”

Caleca’s decision was welcomed within the MPV. “We celebrate their incorporation. The struggle continues and popular sovereignty expressed through suffrage on July 28, will be respected,” Calzadilla concluded.

In recent statements given on the program With the Lightled by Luz Mely Reyes, the former presidential candidate of the MPV stated that new forms of leadership had to be generated, which would give a clear direction to a great political movement, to confront Nicolás Maduro, for which he saw the need to strengthen the political parties, stating that “This is the time for political parties.”
