The wait is over, as of today 830,000 students from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) and Mendoza return to full presence to start a new school year, within the framework of the coronavirus pandemic.
In the case of the citythe schools are ready to receive the 400 thousand students, who during 2021, alternated face-to-face classes with virtuality in CABA.
To start the new academic calendar, in CABA New biosafety protocols were established in order to guarantee 190 days of classes, without affecting the health of the students.
Consequently, the City Government eliminated, among other measures, bubbles and isolation and extended the use of the mandatory mask for students from fourth grade.
Meanwhile, in Mendoza, 443,701 students of all levels will meet again today in schools with slightly stricter biosecurity measures.
This is taking into account that the use of the mask will be mandatory from the first grade and that students will be required to be vaccinated to return to school.
For the rest of the country, classes will start on March 2 with the new Safe Classroom protocolHowever, each district can determine other health measures, according to their situation.
Horacio Rodríguez Larreta inaugurated the school year in CABA
The head of government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, presided over a formal act this morning to start the return to classes, where full attendance will be the priority to guarantee.
During the event, the head of Buenos Aires explained the novelties that the new school calendar will have, such as, for example, that this year there will be 192 days of classes in the city.
Likewise, Larreta indicated that “education is the priority” both for the Buenos Aires government and for the rest of the country, so during this school year it is intended to recover what was lost in the pandemic.
Therefore, for sixth and seventh grade students there will be an extended day, and during the year several strategies will be advanced to advance with the classes.
