Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez demanded that the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, pay the debt he owes to the Bolivarian nation.
After stressing that the Dominican president “denies (the) debt with Venezuela,” Rodríguez revealed that the government of the Caribbean island owes Caracas 350,212,925.48 million dollars.
“Your shameful surrender to the US government does not erase that debt at all. Get your act together and PAY Venezuela without delay. All your tantrums blur the identity of the Dominican people, the great brother of our people. Pay up now,” emphasized the high-ranking Venezuelan official.
Vice President Rodríguez’s statement is in response to Luis Abinader’s refusal to pay for the energy services that the oil-producing country provided in the past. He even said on Monday that under his administration not even “half a gallon” of oil had been imported from Venezuela, which was denied.
Likewise, in early September, the Abinader government collaborated with the US Department of Justice in clearing a Venezuelan presidential transport plane that was in Dominican territory.
