They strongly condemn the "assault" from 'Dibu' Martínez to a cameraman and they ask for a sanction

The Colombian Association of Sports Journalists (Acord Colombia) “strongly” rejected this Wednesday “the act of aggression” by the Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano ‘Draw’ Martinez, who slapped a television camera that was following him minutes after the selection Argentina was defeated on Tuesday against Colombia by 2-1.

“Striking a hand to throw the cameraman’s equipment onto the grass is an attack on freedom of expression that our association does not tolerate. Colombia “It is a country in which freedom of information is respected,” the sports journalists said in a statement.

Faced with this fact, they urged the Colombian Football Federation to “speak out strongly against the Conmebol, Argentine Football Association (AFA) and FIFA”.

“Acord, as a sports journalism authority in the country, demands that FIFA generate an exemplary sanction” against ‘Draw’ Martinezwhich “is not an example for the new generations,” the letter concluded.

Martinezwho sometimes loses his composure, greeted several Colombian players on the field, including his teammate Aston Villa English, John Jader Duran, but at one point he went forward and hit the camera with his hand.

Then, as if nothing had happened, ‘Dibu’ continued walking and hugging his companions.

What happened was captured by the cameras that broadcast the match played in Barranquilla and quickly uploaded to social media where it was interpreted by Colombian fans as a gesture of a sore loser.

With the victory by 2-1 Colombia broke a 31-year streak without beating the Albiceleste at the Metropolitano stadium in Barranquilla.
