For the second consecutive week, indicators from Panorama Covid-19 show an increase in cases of the disease in Rio de Janeiro, although there are already signs of a slowdown in the growth rate in relation to the percentages recorded last week.
The bulletin from the State Health Department, released this Tuesday (10), shows that the rate of positive tests (PCR) in samples collected in public health units remains high, rising from 3% to 9%. Regarding the rapid antigen test, the increase was from 4% to 8%. There was a drop in the results of rapid tests in private laboratories, from 7% to 5%. Most of the samples, analyzed by the Noel Nutels Central Public Health Laboratory (Lacen), are positive for rhinovirus and Covid-19.
The number of children treated with Covid-19 symptoms at Emergency Care Units (UPAs) increased by 32% in recent weeks, from 731 cases to 966. The increase also continued in the number of adults treated, up 17%.
The Covid-19 Panorama uses as data sources the Influenza Epidemiological Surveillance Information System (Sivep-Gripe), the State Regulatory System (SER), the UPAs’ Own System of the state of Rio and the Laboratory Sample Management Information System (GAL), where the results of tests performed by the National Public Health Laboratory (Lacen-RJ) and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) are recorded. Data sent by the Dasa network carried out in private laboratories are also recorded.
