A diplomatic delegation from Venezuela, headed by the ambassador to India Capaya Rodríguez González, participated in a conference that addressed the topic of Women, Peace and Security held in the capital of the Asian country, New Delhi.
This was announced on Tuesday by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry on its social media, detailing that the speaker at the conference was the former Secretary (Minister) of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, Delia Domingo Albert.
The diplomat focused her presentation, organized by the Indian Council of World Affairs, on a series of events that she experienced first-hand, which led to the founding and relevant moments in the history of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), placing particular emphasis on the work carried out by female diplomats from the countries that make up this important regional bloc of countries, as well as on the achievement of various claims made by Philippine female diplomats.
The distinguished speaker addressed kind words to Ambassador Rodríguez González, whom she reminded of a previous meeting at De La Salle University in Manila, when the Venezuelan official served as Venezuela’s Ambassador to the Philippines, inviting her to return to that university institution, as well as to participate, together with the other heads of Mission present at the event, in an upcoming international meeting of female diplomats to be held in the Philippine capital, in the second half of next October.
Ambassador Capaya Rodríguez González extended a cordial greeting, on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, to former Foreign Minister Delia Domingo Albert, thanking her for sharing with the audience some of the vast knowledge acquired throughout her renowned professional career and expressing her willingness to make a future visit to the Republic of the Philippines.
