Senator Andrea Barrientos (CC) invited the leader of the Bolivian Workers’ Central (COB) Juan Carlos Huarachi, a political ally of President Luis Arce, to to go to the Legislative Assembly. “What are you going to do? Are you going to burn it down?” The legislator questioned the miner from Huanuni who hours ago threatened to take over and close the Legislative Body. The legislator sees the union leader’s threat as a dictatorial attitude.

“I invite him to go. What are you going to do? Are you going to burn down the Assembly? Let him go. Huarachi is a mercenary, he is a guy who has no idea of ethics, politics or anything and who It is sold to the highest bidder because it has a price marked on its chest that will never be erased.Barrientos said in an interview with EL DEBER Radio.

On Monday afternoon, there were moments of tension in the COB offices, where a group of Evo leaders and activists arrived and took over the union headquarters for about 45 minutes. They looked for Huarachi to “kick him out”, and caused damage to the property.

After the group left the place, Huarachi arrived with other leaders, He denounced that they wanted to give him a “union coup” and that he even receives constant threats against his life and against his family. He also confirmed the march this Tuesday in support of the Government, with which they demand that the Legislative Assembly, once and for all, approve the international loans. If it does not do so, he assured that he will take over the Assembly and ask for the closure of this state body.

“We will not stop, comrades, today more than ever, tomorrow (Tuesday) The march will end with the physical takeover of the Legislative Assemblyand if they don’t want to legislate, damn it, let their substitutes take over! That’s just how it is, and if the substitutes don’t want to, damn it, we’re going to propose closing down Parliament, damn it! Long live the Workers’ Central!”, shouted Huarachi on Monday, escorted by other leaders.

The parliamentarians are not concerned about Huarachi’s threats, because they are already They do not recognize the Huanuni miner as a legitimate representative of the workers of Bolivia, but rather a political ally that accommodates itself to the interests of each ruler who assumes power.

Senator Barrientos recalled that this is not the first time that Arce’s political ally leader has threatened the Legislative Assembly and that His stance only reflects his dictatorial attitude in the midst of a crisis economic, social and environmental.

“Huarachi has already threatened to take over the Assembly four times. Let him go, what is he going to do? Do you think he has the power to close the Assembly, with a COB that has fallen into decline, a clientelist COB?a COB without a fighting spirit for the sectors it represents? I don’t think so, I think his threats are unnecessary. He owes too many explanations to the country and to the sectors he represents.”

At noon on Tuesday, the march announced by the COB and the Unity Pact reached the center of La Paz and entered Plaza Murillo where a fight broke out between a group of Evista women and Arcists.
