“Very happy for you, brother.” This was the message that Iñaki Williams left for Muniain as soon as his signing for San Lorenzo was confirmed. The Navarrese was asked yesterday if his arrival could serve as a lure for other European players.
“I hope that my arrival will open more doors, that more Europeans will come to this League. We will try to make it happen. I have been posting with many former teammates and several of them told me that from now on they would follow San Lorenzo and if they had to stay up late, they would do so,” he joked.
Regarding Scaloni’s statements about his arrival, the Navarrese said that “I was able to listen to him and I appreciate his words. He is a reference, a coach who is doing impressively with Argentina. He gives one confidence and I thank him for that from here.”
Muniain, of course, also had words for Bielsa: “I had Marcelo as a coach for two seasons and it was a magnificent experience. He took over the team and we were able to experience wonderful moments.
