Authorities will continue to close liquor stores

The Minister of Inside and PoliceFaride Raful, assured that the operation carried out over the weekend by the law enforcement agencies security of the State will continue as part of a policy to reduce social conflicts.

“They continue the operatives. These interventions are not isolated. This is part of a policy that is inserted in the reform of the Police National and that calls on all authorities,” he promised.

Raful reported that about 25 places of sale of drinks were closed and the owners have been ordered to comply with the regulations on the matter. He did not refer to sanctions or fines.

These businesses had horns playing at high volume on public roads, they were selling alcohol without a license, among other violations

In provinces with the highest number of non-compliances

The police deployment focused on Holy Sunday, the National District, Santiago de los Caballeros, Cotuí, Pedernales, Higüey and Samaná, where the incidence rates were higher.

Agents of the police participated in the operation Police National and of the Forces Armed.

The measure was taken at the weekly meeting on security citizen which takes place every Monday at the Palace of the Police National, with the presence of President Luis Abinader or Vice President Raquel Peña.

This was a reaction to the accident in which six people lost their lives and dozens were injured when a truck loaded with avocados hit them while they were having fun in the middle of the road in Azua.
