“I want to be the candidate for mental health and animal welfare,” he emphasized. Andres Ojeda on Sunday night, in front of a packed headquarters of the List 25 of the Colorado Party. In the event called Hand in hand with Andréswhich he arrived at 7:20 p.m., after greeting and taking photos with followers.

Upon entering the headquarters, Ojeda took the floor at 8:30 p.m., greeting former prosecutor Gabriela Fosatti, a member of his team. He stressed the need for renewal in the government coalition, a process that, according to him, “was led by Laura Raffo.” He asked Raffo to continue working, arguing that his party urgently needs it.

Ojeda promises to prioritize citizen welfare in his political agenda

Ojeda stressed the importance of focusing on “issues that interest people” and not on those that only matter to the “inner circle,” referring to the political elites. He pointed out that “we end up giving exams to 5%, 6% or 7% of the population,” which makes it difficult to capture the attention of the general electorate.

In line with his vision, Ojeda announced that his campaign will focus on issues of mental health and animal welfare. He said he is not worried about being labeled as a “marketing candidate,” as he considers it crucial to advance animal welfare, one of the most relevant issues for today’s citizens, stating that “the family has become multispecies.”

Connection between animal welfare and mental health

Ojeda said that the choice to focus her campaign on animal welfare and mental health is not a coincidence, but that both issues are connected. She commented on the relationship between acts of animal cruelty and mental health pathologies, indicating that these will be the central themes of her political proposal.

Among his proposals, he highlighted the prohibition of cosmetic surgery on pets, a “global trend,” the use of silent fireworks to protect animals and people with mental health problems, and avoiding practices such as “bleeding mares.” He assured that he will face challenges to advance in these areas, differentiating himself from candidates who, according to him, prioritize political agendas over citizen well-being.

Invitation to Fanny Canessa to the Senate

In the middle of his presentation, Ojeda surprised the audience by publicly inviting former judge Fanny Canessa to join his list for the Senate. “We want her to join us on the list for the Senate, something I didn’t tell you before, I say it publicly,” said Ojeda, seeking to reinforce his team with relevant figures in the judicial field.

The invitation to Canessa is part of Ojeda’s strategy to attract diverse profiles and strengthen his candidacy. His intention is to position his team as innovative and open to various sectors of society, reflecting his focus on novel issues for traditional politics.
