The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reported that people from 95 countries will participate in the Antifascist Congress that begins this Tuesday.
He said that “the call is for all countries in the world. The call is to raise awareness of the seriousness of fascism.”
Cabello said that “they (the fascists) would not govern for the people. They want to govern the people.”
“Venezuela is at the forefront against fascism and neo-fascism, that will not happen here, we have very good activities on the agenda that begins tomorrow with forums and presentations,” he said during the PSUV press conference.
He also indicated that PSUV will have spaces in the different states of the country so that the presentations made within the framework of the Congress can be heard. In turn, he pointed out that the issue of fascism should be a problem for all peoples and Venezuela is only opening the door to create awareness about the seriousness of this issue.
At the same time, he said that the opportunity must be taken to put faces to the victims of fascism, as well as faces to those who are fascists.
He denounced that in Venezuela, fascism is represented in the figure of “María Corina Machado and those who are next to her, they are not politicians, they can be anything, besides fascists, but they are not politicians and everything they do is reversed (…) all the trap they set falls on their own, how unlucky they are,” he said.
He also recalled that the National Assembly (NA) is continuing to work to approve the Law against Fascism, Neo-Fascism and Similar Expressions of Hate very soon.
