The Minister of Development and Social Inclusion, Julio Demartinisaid he did not know Andres Hurtado, ‘Chibolin’‘, nor to family members Siucho. The statements come after the Contracorriente program showed a document in which it is indicated that an alleged effective collaborator had assured that the head of Midis participated in a meeting with the lawyer Matthew Castaneda and Ivan Siucho.

“Until yesterday I was very indignant. The Prosecutor’s Office, yesterday, quickly made a statement on the matter and categorically stated that the document is false. I don’t know if there is an effective collaborator. I don’t know Mr. Hurtado, I don’t know Mr. Mateo Castañeda. I only had a moment with him on the day of the raid on the Palace,” he said on RPP.
He also said that he did not know Siucho, who is accused of having been an intermediary in the delivery of one million dollars to Andrés Hurtado to lift the seizure of one hundred kilos of gold, within the framework of an investigation into money laundering of the companies of the Miu Lei, relatives of Siucho.
“I don’t know who Mr. Iván Siucho is,” Demartini said on Monday.
The head of Midis said that he will ask for the identity of the person who gave the alleged document to the media outlet to be revealed because he will be sued. He also indicated that there is a strategy to affect the institutionality.
“This is not a minor or casual event. It is an event to harm the person who speaks and the institutionality (…) to harm the democratic system,” he said, while referring to the fact that there is no photo in which he appears with Andrés Hurtado and Iván Siucho, for which reason he asked the Attorney General’s Office to initiate an investigation on its own initiative.
The minister asserted that a permanent suspicion has been created regarding all public officials: “Ministers, congressmen, presidents, are under this cloak of suspicion, that they are all bad, that everything is wrong.”
