The anti-corruption prosecutor Javier Pacheco presented last Friday the 18th a constitutional complaint in the Congress of the Republic against the prosecutor of the Nation, Zoraida Ávalos, for the alleged commission of the crimes of specific passive bribery, real cover-up, influence peddling, abuse of authority and against public tranquility in the form of criminal organization.
As reported by El Comercio, the complaint is based on accusations made in journalistic information and on statements by Rocío Sánchez, former prosecutor in charge of the Los Necks Blancos del Puerto case.
Javier Pacheco points out the presumed link between Ávalos Rivera and the White Necks of the Port. In addition, he blames the Nation’s prosecutor for having been favored in her appointment as supreme prosecutor.
The prosecutor also warns of the “interference” of Zoraida Ávalos in the investigations against the aforementioned criminal network by requesting that all records of telephone communications be sent to a prosecutor other than the one that had been judicially authorized.
On February 16, in a dialogue with RPP, the Nation’s prosecutor rejected the declarations of attorney Pacheco in which he linked her to Los Necks Blancos.
“It is part of a narrative that has been built, not just now, for a long time by different actors. The purpose, the objective is to bring down the investigation of The White Necks“, he pointed.
“I reject these claims. There is no evidence and the only thing there is are political interests created with the sole desire to bring down the investigation”, he highlighted.
