Why did PNP captain 'Culebra' record conversations with Juan José Santiváñez?: his lawyer explains

The lawyer Jose Carlos Mejialawyer of the PNP captain Junior Leftknown as ‘Culebra’, reported on what motivated his client to go with a recorder to the Wang Xiang Yuan chifa, in San Borja, to record the Conversation with the Minister of the InteriorJuan José Santiváñez. According to the version of his client, He began to suspect a “double standard” handled by the head of the Mininter regarding his position regarding the High Complexity Investigation Division (Diviac) of the National Police of Peru (PNP).

In this sense, Mejia He pointed out that his client went with the tape recorder, without knowing what they were going to tell him: “He explained that. He detected that (Santiváñez) had a double discourse. Paraphrasing what my client said, Mr. Santiváñez since he was Vice Minister of Internal Order and even in the first days of assuming as Minister of the Interior, tells my client that he is going to strengthen Diviac, which is a very important unit that was in the fight against corruption. However, on the first day of being appointed Minister, he begins to question the supposed millionaire budget of Diviac, the supposed team that was lost and then located.”

In addition, Junior Left I would have asked Santiváñez for his statements and he told him that “they had passed it on to him”, without specifying who. He even forwarded the information to him, but it did not refer to his complaints against the DiviacMeanwhile, he realized that he had one speech in front of the media and another when they spoke in private.

On the other hand, Jose Carlos Mejia He indicated that it was proven to the Prosecutor’s Office that Junior Izquierdo did meet with Juan Jose Santivañez On Tuesday, May 21, in a San Borja establishment, something that has been admitted by the head of the Mininter himself: “It was not alleged, but it was proven that a tape recorder was used to record that meeting, that dinner. Whose voices are they? My client did not have dinner with an artificial intelligence, the information he received that day was expressed voluntarily, his interlocutor was not threatened, coerced or blackmailed.”

Days ago, the Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime archived the complaint filed on August 27 by the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, against PNP Captain Junior Izquierdo, known as ‘Culebra’, and members of the National Police of PeruThe head of the Interior accused them of allegedly be part of a criminal organization with the aim of destabilizing the Government of Dina Boluarte, after the release of audio recordings that reveal pressure from the Executive Branch in the case of the deactivation of Diviac.

“Declare that it is not appropriate to initiate preliminary proceedings against Junior Izquierdo Yarlequé for the alleged commission of a crime against public order in the form of a criminal organization to the detriment of the State,” says the order by Ingrid Carhuallanqui Contreras, deputy prosecutor for Organized Crime.

Audios from Minister Santiváñez compromise Dina Boluarte

As you may recall, on Thursday, August 22, LR published a note entitled ‘Audios would implicate the president and Santiváñez in a plan to liquidate the Diviac’, in which it was revealed that the captain of the Diviac, Junior Leftrecorded his friend the minister Santiváñez when he had dinner with him at the Wang Xiang Yuan chifa in San Borja. According to Izquierdo’s version, Santiváñez confided to him that the head of state had appointed him to finish off the police team investigating the corruption of the Boluarte government.

In the audio you can hear Santivañez tell Junior Izquierdo in great detailknown as ‘Culebra’, what conditions were imposed on him to be Minister of the Interior, as well as the presidential pressures and requests that basically aimed at the deactivation of Diviac, a team that had become uncomfortable for the Government due to the progress of the investigations into Nicanor Boluarte, brother of the head of State. Another issue that worried the president was that of Harvey Colchado.

Days later, in a new audio revealed, a conversation between the minister would be shown Santiváñez and ‘Culebra’, where the first one would have revealed that the car of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, was used for Vladimir Cerrón’s escape to Pisco. Since it was an official presidential vehicle – known as the ‘Cofre’ – it was not going to be stopped by the National Police, facilitating the escape of the fugitive.
