Three people lost their lives and another five were injured after a traffic accident that occurred early Sunday morning in the Caño Hondo sector, Ricaurte municipality, Cojedes state.
According to a report from the Cojedes fire department, Jesús Córdoba and his 4-year-old son died at the scene, while his other 11-year-old son was transferred to the Egor Nucete hospital in the city of San Carlos, where he died minutes later.
The following were injured in the tragic accident: Nohemí Guite, 32 years old, with trauma to the left lower extremity at the level of the tibia and fibula (wife of the now deceased Jesús Córdoba). Rafael Delgado, 60 years old, with a possible fracture in the left upper extremity at the level of the humerus. Zenaida Suárez, 45 years old, with multisystem trauma. Carmen Flores, 51 years old, multisystem trauma. Carlos Suárez, 48 years old, with multisystem trauma.
It was learned that the incident occurred when Jesús Córdoba was heading to his residence, located in Las Vegas, Rómulo Gallegos municipality, after participating with his family in the festivities of the Virgin La Divina Pastora, in the town of Lagunitas, Ricaurte municipality.
It was reported that Córdoba was caught on a curve and collided with another vehicle, where minutes later he was assisted by the State’s protection and security agencies, in addition to members of the PSUV who were dedicated to providing support in the face of this unfortunate event that has plunged the state of Cojedes into mourning.
It was also learned that Jesús Córdoba was a well-known revolutionary leader who belonged to the National Federation of Motorcyclists of Venezuela and the state organization of motorcyclists Leones de Acero.
