The mayor of the municipality of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Johnny Fernandezannounced that from this Sunday, September 8, The mobile medical brigades will be located at different points in the capital of Santa Cruz to serve the citizens, and will displace the cisterns for sprinkling water on the streets and avenues.

These measures announced by the councilor are given in view of the poor quality of air that citizens breathedue to the forest fires that occur in the Chiquitania.

“Tomorrow (Sunday) in the city we will begin with the plan to deploy mobile and medical brigades to different points,” the authority indicated while asking the health workers to make a “waiting” in its pressure measurementsto deal with emergencies and cases that may arise in hospitals.

Fernández announced that they will declare an emergency at the Municipal Operations Center (COEM) to take precautions, in addition to arranging the closure of public spaces such as parks and squares to avoid exposing the population to the high level of contamination.

He also announced the purchase of large quantities of eye drops to be distributed to medical brigades and the use of tankers to spray water on streets and avenues.

The mayor announced that if the high level of contamination continues will request the Departmental Health Service to suspend face-to-face classes and that these be virtual, to protect the lives of the students.
