However, in the details of the air tickets purchased for the councillors, it can be stated that the outbound flight left Lima on September 4 and the return to the capital was scheduled for the 7th; that is, one day after the event ended.

The councilors will return to Trujillo by land from Lima and their arrival in La Libertad is scheduled for September 8. These two extra days of “free time” are the point that is being questioned, since in general, in this type of trip, the return tickets are bought for the same day that the event ends.

The regional councilor Olanda Torres He clarified, first of all, that the councillors who travelled to Ucayali did so with the aim of continuing to strengthen the supervisory role and formulating a legislative initiative to modify the internal regulations of the Regional Council to allow for the censure of officials who do not act with integrity.

Secondly, he said it was strange that today the focus was on the training trip for the councillors and the “additional” time they would spend outside the region was being questioned.

“The tickets were purchased by the Logistics Department of the Region. They had access to the invitation from the Regional Government of Ucayali and it is they (officials) who determine the departure and return dates (Lima-Ucayali by plane and vice versa),” he said.

It goes further

For his part, the counselor Robert de la Cruz He claims that someone “leaked” this information from the Region in an attempt to “discredit” them and prevent further questioning of César Acuña’s trips.

“From the region, they leak inaccurate information with the sole intention of harming the councilors who are currently representing our region. They do this to divert attention from the trip that the governor made to the United States without the authorization of the Council,” he emphasized.

He added that it is a strategy to minimize the wave of criticism against César Acuña.

“In Ucayali we are known as the region of crime and for having the governor who has traveled the most outside the country: 40 days of leave plus 30 of vacation, a disgrace. We have traveled to propose norms and legislative reforms, Mr. Acuña travels for pleasure,” he stated.

The counselor Edy Camacho She also spoke out and said that she and her other six colleagues had nothing to do with the return date on the plane ticket, since it was the officials of the Region, at the request of the CEO (Ever Cadenillas), who purchased the tickets.
