Muniain: "I feel enormous happiness to be here."

Iker Muniain is already a San Lorenzo player. The former Athletic player and captain closed an agreement yesterday with the Argentine club to play for the Blaugrana until December 2025. The Navarrese footballer will now speed up his preparation to be able to debut next Saturday with his new team and in front of his new fans.

“I feel incredibly happy to be here. The truth is that I loved the stadium and I can’t wait to see it full of people cheering on the team. I loved everything I saw, it made me excited,” Muniain himself said in a video edited by San Lorenzo.

The former red-and-white player makes it clear that “when you are a player and you see the fans of a team as big as San Lorenzo and the creativity they have and how they encourage the team, it moves you inside. And well, it makes me want to get dressed and start playing.”

In Argentina, it was reported late yesterday that Muniain’s presentation will take place at the beginning of next week, perhaps on Monday, at the Nuevo Gasómetro, where San Lorenzo plays its home games. There, a new professional stage will begin for the second footballer who has worn the Athletic shirt the most times in official matches during the century-old history of the Bilbao club.
