Mobile banking users increase by 11% in the first half of 2024

Online banking, which is banking done through a computer, registered 23 million users and a growth of 13% compared to the first half of last year.

Of the transactions that Mexicans made in electronic banking, 48% were transfers and 29% were purchases.

Another 18% made cash withdrawals and 3% made payments.

How many Mexicans use the ATM?

CNBV data shows that 81.3 million people used an ATM between January and June of this year.

This activity represents an increase of 4.7% compared to the same period last year.

Fewer people are using Point of Sale Terminals (POS)

While digital banking and ATMs are on the rise, the number of point-of-sale terminals (POS) provided by banks has declined.

In the first half of 2024, 40.2 million people used these devices, compared to 48.3 million in the first half of 2023.
