One day after citizens of Sullana demanded that President Dina Boluarte increase security in the face of rising crime, two engineers and a surveyor were murdered by hitmen at different civil works in Marcavelica and Villa Primavera.
In response, the Ministry of the Interior has ordered the dispatch of a specialized police contingent and the Grecco Group to combat the growing wave of violence in the Piura region.
“In light of the recent criminal events that occurred in the Piura region, the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, ordered, through the Command of the National Police of Peru, the dispatch of a specialized police contingent and the Grecco Group to reinforce the efforts to fight crime,” the statement says.
