Agents of the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) destroyed a logistics base built by the criminal gang El Guajiro, in the Río Cogollo sector, Rosario de Perijá municipality, Zulia, according to military sources.
In the improvised infrastructure, the soldiers located three 12-gauge shotguns (Remington 870, Maverick and Mossberg), a Smith & Wesson .380-caliber revolver; a rifle magazine; 51 cartridges of different calibers, including 33 for 7.62×51 mm caliber rifles, and six telephone sets.
They also found two motorcycles without license plates. All the material was seized and two people present at the site were arrested, identified as Luis Manuel Carmona Martínez, Ciro Wilmer Bernal Márquez and Martha Yulieth Fernández Fernández (La Yuli), members of the organized crime group El Guajiro, according to a report from Conas and the Regional Anti-Drug Intelligence Unit No. 11.
The detainees will be prosecuted for illegal possession of a firearm, criminal association and illegal possession of war material.
Also in Zulia, but in the Santa Bárbara sector, Catatumbo municipality, the military seized a Harrington & Richardson Topper 12-gauge shotgun and a motorcycle without license plates.
According to a report from GNB Detachment 116, Jorge Luis Hernández Quiróz and Leonardo Rafael Márquez Bracho were arrested in the procedure.
